Dental implants replace the root of a missing tooth or teeth and form a stable foundation onto which new teeth can be constructed to restore aesthetics and function.
They are usually made from a metal base that is coated in dental porcelain to make it look like a natural tooth.
Since the discovery of 'osseointegration' by Per Invar Branemark the concept of dental implants has provided a new solution to the problem of tooth loss. Before the widespread introduction of dental implants, bridges and removable partial dentures were the only available option.
The world renowned Straumann implant system is used by Dr Binamin & his team at Widney Dental Care. Dr Binamin has undertaken extensive training in dental implantology at the highly recognised Eastman Dental Centre in London & is currently studying towards an MSc in Implantology
